Ayesha Abdeen is the Chief of the Division of Joint Replacement and Reconstruction in the Department of Orthopaedics. She is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement and reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee. She is an Instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Abdeen earned her medical degree from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. She completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Canada. After residency, she completed two fellowships: one in adult joint reconstruction at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, the other in Orthopaedic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY.
Dr. Abdeen is a member of numerous professional organizations including Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Massachusetts Medical Society. She is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
