What is a Center of Ankle Excellence?

A Center of Ankle Excellence is a facility that has met the following criteria:

  • 3 or more fellowship trained Foot & Ankle Surgeons
  • Performing 60+ Total Ankle Replacement surgeries annually
  • Performing both primary and revision total ankle replacement surgeries

In addition to those criteria, they have also met at least 3 of the following criteria.

  • Currently training foot & ankle residents and/or fellows
  • Running educational courses (CME Courses) specific to total ankle replacement
  • Hosting total ankle replacement labs in their facility
  • Expanding surgical knowledge around total ankle replacement through clinical research and/or biomechanics lab
  • Access to cutting edge diagnostic imaging (Weight bearing CT)
