Practice philosophy: Patient-centered care where we work together as a team to create the best plan to reach their goals.
What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about helping my patients improve their quality of life and level of activity as well as educating patients and their families about their hip and knee conditions and the best treatment options available.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? DNR Conservation officer or some sort of job that would allow me to be outside and in nature.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I became an orthopedic surgeon to help patients have a better quality of life. I knew this was for me in medical school after seeing the great outcomes patients have after joint replacement!
What is something you have learned from your patients? How much pain people can endure and how hard patients are willing to work to maximize their outcomes when they're empowered!
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? A challenge I enjoy is determining the best individualized treatment option for each patient. Every patient is unique and working together, we can find the best path forward.
What is your personal health goal? Stay active, run 500 miles this year, and possibly do a marathon.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? The best thing I've done for my health is making exercise a priority, I try to exercise 3-5 days per week. When I exercise regularly, I have less aches and pains, I sleep better, and I am happier!
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my family. I have an incredible wife and 3 amazing kids!
My wife is the toughest, hardest working, and most caring person I have ever known. My kids continuously amaze me with how hard they work in school, at ice hockey, and in everything they do!
What are a few of your personal achievements?Received the David J. Czertak Memorial Teaching Award from my residents in 2020. Received 6 personal medals during my 16 years on Active Duty in the US Navy
