Evan Boyd is an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in treating all conditions of the knee and shoulder, as well as sports related injuries of the foot and ankle. He is an arthroscopy specialist that performs arthroscopic treatment of the rotator cuff, shoulder labrum, AC joint, ACL, PCL, LCL, MCL, meniscus, cartilage, and other related injuries of the shoulder, knee, and ankle. He also performs total shoulder arthroplasty, reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, and total knee arthroplasty. Dr. Boyd grew up in the Southern Tier of Upstate New York. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University where he studied nutritional science and was a varsity athlete on the Division I football team. Following the completion of his college football career, he was awarded the Bernie Olin Award, awarded to the player that displayed the most determination, perseverance, and grit during their career. He attended medical school at NYU School of Medicine where he received the Excellence in Musculoskeletal Clinical Knowledge Award. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Vermont. His interests in sports medicine led him to the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School where he completed his fellowship in sports medicine surgery. During his time in Boston, he served as an assistant team physician for the New England Patriots, and also spent time working with the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and Boston College athletic teams.
In addition to his interests in sports medicine surgery, Dr. Boyd also has an interest in clinical research and has published multiple research articles and book chapters on cartilage restoration techniques, ACL injuries, knee ligament injuries, as well as topics in trauma and spine. He currently is a member of the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Boyd holds a passion for treating athletes and individuals striving to return to an active lifestyle. His practice involves treating all aspects of the knee and shoulder, as well as sports related injuries of the ankle. His surgical practice focus primarily on the following:
