Dr. Steven Kassman earned his undergraduate degree in 1983, from Cornell University. He received his doctorate magna cum laude in 1987 as well as subsequent orthopedic residency training from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Following completion of residency training in 1993 Dr. Kassman relocated to Phoenix and served 4 years as a Major in the United States Air Force providing orthopedic care to active duty military, their dependants, and retirees at Luke AFB.
Dr. Kassman has been board certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons since 1995. He successfully accomplished re-certification in 2003 and most recently again in 2013. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a partner of OrthoArizona, Arizona Orthopedic Surgical Associates (AOSA) division. Dr. Kassman has previously served on the executive committee and currently serves on their operations and worker’s compensation committees. He also previously served as a governing board member for the Maricopa County Medical Society.
Specific orthopedic interests include arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee, joint replacement of the hip and knee, as well as fracture care. He welcomes patients with any of the following conditions: shoulder pain due to rotator cuff tears, impingement, bursitis, and labral injuries, hip arthritis, knee arthritis, ligament and cartilage tears of the knee, fractures of the upper and lower extremities, and work place injuries. You can trust that Dr. Kassman is well versed on the latest operative and nonoperative treatments for these conditions. Operative alternatives typically include cutting edge technology and minimally invasive arthroscopic or less invasive open approaches.
