Andrew M. Star, M.D., a graduate of Northwestern University, completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania Department of Orthopaedic Surgery followed by a fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Star is Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Director of Joint Replacement Surgery at Abington Memorial Hospital. He is also Medical Director of the state-of-the-art Orthopaedic and Spine Institute, located at both Lansdale Hospital and Abington Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Star is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and specializes in primary and revision total joint replacement and reconstruction. His particular interests and activities include over a decade of experience in minimally invasive technology for joint replacement, including minimally invasive instrument design and anterior mini incision hip replacement. He is a frequent lecturer at orthopaedic medical conferences, sharing his expertise with other surgeons. He also provides hands-on training to visiting surgeons in minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Star is Clinical Associate Professor of orthopaedics at Temple University Medical School and Clinical Assistant Professor of orthopaedics at Drexel University College of Medicine.
