Dr. Chris Mellano is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced training in arthroscopy and joint replacements of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. After graduating medical school at the University Southern California School of Medicine with distinction, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA-Harbor. Subsequently he underwent a surgical fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, specialized in Shoulder, Elbow & Sports Medicine. During his fellowship, he served as an assistant team physician for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bulls. Finally, Dr. Mellano trained in anterior approach hip replacement under the tutelage of innovator Joel Matta, MD. Dr. Mellano has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented original research at national and international meetings.
