Dr. Staeheli was born in Tacoma and attended Gonzaga University. He attended Creighton University on a US Navy Scholarship. After completing his surgical internship at San Diego Naval Hospital he then completed an Orthopaedic Residency at Mayo Clinic. He returned to the Navy to teach orthopaedics from 1985-89. He then moved back to Spokane with his family where he practiced at Rockwood Clinic and was Team Doctor for Gonzaga University. Dr. Zirkle and Dr. Samsell convinced him to join their practice in 1994 and he and his wife have raised their children here and one son is now an orthopedic surgeon in the Navy. His practice is still quite varied but primarily joint reconstruction and he performs over 300 joint replacements yearly. He and his wife sponsor an annual Orthopaedic Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic
