Orthopedic specialist Nader Fahimi, MD, is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery. He sees patients at Elite Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, with three convenient locations in Wayne, Riverdale, and Clifton, New Jersey. He has a Certification of Added Qualifications in Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and specializes in sports medicine and the arthroscopic treatment of sports-related injuries of the shoulder, hip, knee, and Ankle. He has extensive experience in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, including new arthroscopic reconstruction of large rotator cuff tears, arthroscopic repair of biceps and labrum tears, and arthroscopic treatment of shoulder arthritis.
Dr. Fahimi obtained his medical degree from Georgetown School of Medicine, in Washington, DC, and completed his master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from the same institution. After graduating from his orthopedic residency, Dr. Fahimi completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious Southern California Orthopedic Institute. There, he received specialized training in arthroscopic treatment of complex shoulder, knee, and ankle problems and sports injuries under the supervision of world-renowned surgeons, like Richard Ferkel, MD, Marc Friedman, MD, Stephen Snyder, MD, Carlos Guanche, MD, Ronald Kerzel, MD, and Mark Getelman, MD.
Dr. Fahimi was always fascinated by the work and medical publications of world-renowned Dr. Marc Phillipon, the pioneer and inventor of complicated techniques in Arthroscopic Treatment of Hip problems related to sports injuries and arthritis. Dr. Fahimi met with Dr. Phillipon, who agreed to become his teacher and mentor. Subsequently, Dr. Fahimi completed his fellowship in Hip Arthroscopy at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine under the guidance of Dr. Phillipon.
Dr. Fahimi has devoted his career to his patients by constantly striving to learn more innovative and less invasive procedures, with smaller incisions, less pain, and shorter downtime. He also loves to pass on his knowledge and teach orthopedic residents at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. He specializes in comprehensive shoulder surgery, including shoulder hemiarthroplasty (partial shoulder replacement), total shoulder replacement, reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, and treatment of complicated proximal humerus and humeral head fractures. Additionally, Dr. Fahimi specializes in minimally invasive joint replacement surgeries.
Moreover, Dr. Fahimi is an Associate Master Instructor of Arthroscopy and he actively teaches practicing physicians via cadaver courses at the prestigious Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago. Dr. Fahimi is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and New Jersey Orthopaedic Society.
