Dr. Dominic Marino is a board eligible orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in total joint surgery and specializes in treating all conditions involving the hip and knee in adults and children. Dr. Marino joined The Orthopedic Clinic in August 2023.
Dr. Marino is trained in anterior hip replacement, partial and total knee replacement, robotic-assisted surgery, muscle-sparing surgery, and arthroscopy surgery. He focuses on same-day total joint replacement procedures. He is particularly interested in arthritis surgery of the hip and knee and trauma of the lower extremity. His fellowship education furthered his expertise in taking care of patients with complex, failed, or infected joint replacements in need of a revision surgery. He also believes in a personal approach to care and prioritizes taking the time to understand a patient’s individual concerns, provide education on treatment options, and develop a collaborative care plan.
He grew up in Queensbury, NY, and pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Marino patented and constructed a medical device that enables stroke survivors, upper extremity amputees, and others with the use of one hand to participate in the sport of cycling, providing an outlet for recreation and rehabilitation. Dr. Marino received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was involved in medical outreach trips to Haiti and was inducted into the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Medical Society.
After receiving his Doctorate, he completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Michigan State University. After residency, he completed his fellowship training in adult reconstruction and complex hip and knee revision at The Florida Orthopaedic Institute, internationally recognized for orthopaedic innovation. He has published clinical and basic science research papers and presented his work at national meetings. He has also served as a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty.
As a surgeon at The Orthopedic Clinic, Dr. Marino sees patients at the following locations: Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, and Port Orange.
In his personal life, Dr. Marino is married to an obstetrician gynecologist and has two young children. He enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, boating, golf, college football, and traveling.
