              Reaves M. Crabtree, Jr., MD, attended Vanderbilt University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Medicine, Health, and Society and a minor in Financial Economics. He attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. He completed his orthopaedic surgery internship and residency training at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.
Dr. Crabtree is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon and specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy. During his fellowship, he was trained by world-renowned leaders in arthroscopy, sports medicine, and joint replacement with a focus on the knee, shoulder, hip, and elbow at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Mississippi and the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Over the course of his residency and fellowship training, he provided medical coverage for the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) football, Tulane University, Jackson State University, multiple area junior colleges and high schools, the AA Mississippi Braves baseball team, and PGA tour events.
Dr. Crabtree has authored multiple journal articles on topics such as orthopaedic trauma, rotator cuff repair techniques, and outcomes after ACL reconstruction and additionally has authored a book chapter on elbow arthroscopy techniques. He has presented his work at multiple state and national orthopaedic meetings.
Dr. Crabtree’s training focused on operative and non-operative treatments of musculoskeletal injuries and degenerative conditions to restore patient function and get patients back to participating in activities they love. Dr. Crabtree was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and is excited about the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients in the community. He maintains hospital affiliations at Ascension St. Vincent’s Birmingham and Ascension St. Vincent’s One Nineteen. Outside of his practice, Dr. Crabtree enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Caroline, and their two children. His hobbies include golf, hunting, and traveling.
