Michael A. Rivera, D.P.M.

Michael A. Rivera, DPM, FACFAS is one of the founding partners of Florida Foot & Ankle Associates, LLC. He is a Board Certified, Foot and Ankle Surgeon expert with over 25 years of clinical, medical and surgical experience. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He obtained his Podiatric Medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He attended a 2 year Foot & Ankle Surgical Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York City, graduating as the Chief Resident. He further went on to do an additional 6 month, Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgical Fellowship. He has been practicing in South Florida for over 25 years, spending over 20 years at Mercy Hospital. He was an Adjunct Surgical Professor for the Mercy/Barry University Podiatric Residency program. He was the past, Division Chief of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Mercy Hospital for 6 years. Dr. Rivera is a Founding Ambassador of the Mercy Hospital Foundation. He currently is the on-site Podiatric Surgical Attending at Memorial Hospital West, where he continues to educate surgical residents. As a leader and educator, Dr. Rivera was the past President, of the Miami-Dade County Podiatric Medical Association for 4 years. In 2007, he acquired an additional office, to better help serve the South Florida, Broward County community. As an educator, consultant, business owner, philanthropist, and father he understands the unique needs and concerns of his patients and colleagues. Dr. Rivera has unique skills in which he has educated Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgeons around the country. He is an active lecturer, didactic surgical workshop instructor, and accomplished author. He has contributed to developing technology that is currently used in Foot and Ankle surgery. Dr. Rivera´s practice mission is to provide compassionate, ethical, comprehensive, efficient quality foot and ankle care with an edge on using the latest technological advances in foot and ankle surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Rivera offers the latest advanced technology to solve your pain including minimally invasive Arthroscopic and Endoscopic surgery of the foot and ankle.
