Dr. Jeremy Scott is an orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in sports medicine, pediatric sports medicine and trauma, orthopedic trauma, and robotic-assisted hip, knee, and shoulder replacement. He is the first and only surgeon in the state of Arkansas certified in Mako Robotic-Assisted Shoulder Replacement, bringing advanced robotic technology to patients throughout Northeast Arkansas and the surrounding region.
Dr. Scott completed his undergraduate education at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, before earning his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
His connection to Jonesboro extends well beyond medicine. Dr. Scott originally moved to the community while pursuing his professional pole vaulting career and has now been part of the area for more than 20 years. During a 14-year professional career, he represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games, competed in four World Championships and two Pan American Games, and spent much of his career ranked among the top 10 pole vaulters in the world.
That experience continues to shape his approach to sports medicine today. Having competed at the highest level of international athletics, Dr. Scott understands the mindset of athletes—the drive to return to competition, the frustration of being sidelined by injury, and the importance of balancing a safe recovery with performance goals. This perspective is especially valuable in his work with young athletes, allowing him to relate to both the physical and mental demands of competitive sports.
Dr. Scott continues to work with athletes across all levels of competition, including some of the top professional athletes in track and field. Whether treating a young athlete working toward the next level, an injured weekend competitor, a trauma patient, or someone seeking to regain mobility through joint replacement, his goal is to combine advanced orthopedic care with an understanding of each patient’s individual goals and lifestyle.
After more than two decades in the Jonesboro community, Dr. Scott considers Northeast Arkansas home and remains committed to providing advanced orthopedic and sports medicine care to the community that has been an important part of both his athletic and professional journey.
