James P. Maddox, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery and total joint replacement. He lives in Dothan, AL, and he and his, Linda, have four children.
Dr. Maddox earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, MS. He then completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery there, serving in his final year as Chief Resident of Orthopaedic Surgery at both the Harry S. Truman Memorial Medical Center and the University of Missouri Medical Center. He spent part of the following year with his family in Ogbomosho, Nigeria, serving as Orthopaedic Consultant to a Baptist Mission hospital there, and the rest of the year in specialty spine training at the University of Missouri.
A member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Maddox is also affiliated with numerous other professional organizations and societies, including the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Southern Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the Clinical Orthopaedic Society, and the North American Spine Society.
