Mark A. Gardner, DO is board-certified in orthopedic surgery. He offers general orthopedic surgery with a special interest in total joint arthroplasty and sports medicine.
Dr. Gardner was born and raised in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. In high school, he excelled in sports and academics. He was offered a scholarship to Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. At Duquesne, he played football for 4 years and earned a bachelor of health sciences degree in 2001. He gained admittance to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). In medical school, he focused on his studies graduating at the top of his class in 2005. He was also involved in the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) and intramural sports on campus.
After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Gardner completed a one year internship and four year orthopedic surgery residency program at Humility of Mary Health Partners in Warren, Ohio and Youngstown, Ohio. Upon completion of residency training, Dr. Gardner accepted a position with Parkside Orthopedics-UPMC.
