Dr. Raycraft was born and raised in Hudson, Illinois a small town north of Bloomington. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Illinois Wesleyan University and from Vanderbilt University Medical School in Nashville, Tennessee. He continued his one-year surgical internship and four year Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During his chief residency there he led and completed an extensive investigation of total hip joint revision surgery results. He was board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in July 1992 and recertified in 2002 and 2010. He is a fellow of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Raycraft has been practicing in Decatur since 1990. He and his wife have two children.
