Adi Derasari, M.D., is an attending orthopedic surgeon, specializing in total hip and total knee replacements, including complex revisions of failed joint replacements. He has created a rapid recovery program for joint replacement patients at New York Presbyterian Queens to ensure quick return to function after surgery. Dr. Derasari completed his fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas and his residency in orthopaedic surgery from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He earned his medical degree from University of South Florida (USF) College of Medicine. As a medical student, Dr. Derasari was selected to be part of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute-National Institutes of Health Research Scholars Program, spending a year in laboratories at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Md., conducting mentored biomedical research. As well, he earned the Martin & Ruth Silbiger Scholarship in Research, which is awarded to a graduating senior who made great contributions to research efforts at the USF College of Medicine. Dr. Derasari graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Florida. He has been published in several medical journals, including The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and Journal of Orthopaedic Research.
