Dr. Curtis attended University of Alabama where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Remaining in Birmingham, Dr. Curtis completed an internship in the General Surgery Program and the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at UAB. Since moving to Montgomery in 1993, Dr. Curtis has provided care for physically challenged and handicapped children through Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Curtis has been involved with orthopedics his entire life. Although he was born with bilateral clubfeet and received orthopedic treatment until the age of 10, Dr. Curtis has enjoyed sports his entire life. He has been married to his high-school sweetheart, Laura, for 32 years. They are the proud parents of Kyndal, Kelsey, Joseph, and Whistling Dixie- a German Shorthair Pointer. An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Curtis enjoys biking, fishing, and hunting. His family also has farmland in South Montgomery County where he raises pet chickens for their eggs. When not working on his farm, you may find Dr. Curtis doing yardwork or tending his vegetable garden. Dr. Curtis is also an active member First Baptist Church of Montgomery.
